This is our commitment
But we can’t do it alone…
In the 1960’s, the land our campsite is currently located on was a wine growing domain. Our first campers pitched their tents in the middle of the vineyardā¦
Ever since then, we have resolved to committing ourselves to creating a healthy living space where harmony reigns between our campers, our green spaces, and the fauna that lives on our site year-round.
Our planetās well-being is very important to us, therefore, we naturally decided to become a 0 phyto establishment in 2013. And became fully recognised as such in 2019!
What does 0 phyto ?
0 phyto is label which references the establishments that are committed ans active in preserving the biodiversity of the soil and vegetation. How, you ask? By deciding to no longer use any hazardous phytosanitary products, such as pesticides and fungicides.
It has been over a decade since our campsite touched a pesticide or phytosanitary product.āØ And the biodiversity is thriving! Thanks to this decision, the local fauna and flora are able to reap the benefits of our green patch of heaven all year-round without any risk of poisoning!
Aside from the health benefits it brings to our animal friends and ourselves, this action also allows us to introduce plants that are well-adjusted to our Mediterranean climate, meaning they need far less watering, thereby saving on water use. Especially considering how rare water can become during the summer…
Our establishment became a refuge for the Bird Protection League in 2019. A goal we achieved namely through the installation of birdbaths and feeds all around our campsite.
Plus, our establishment has also set up insect hotels on our ancient wine-growing domain, in order to help preserve the biodiversity.
To guarantee you the best holiday you can have in HĆ©rault,, where nature, a healthy lifestyle and a cosy spot for campers blend perfectly, our Beauregard Plage campsite is committed daily to being keen and green. We want to create a unique experience for our guests in Marseillan-Plage, built around nature and discovery.
All year-round, our campsite takes particular care of our greens (vegetable patches, flowers, plants and trees), by making sure we select typically Mediterranean essences.
For example, guests can expect to see: Atriplex halimus, oleander, tamarisk, as well as agapanthas, giant reeds, bottle brushes, cheesewood, russian olive, morus australis, fig trees and moreā¦
By choosing a flora that is easily able to adapt to the Mediterranean climate, this allows us to produce a more water-saving irrigation system, as well as plants that require less care.
Our Beauregard Plage Campsite is ideally located near the Ć©tang de Thau lagoon and Bagnas, both of whom are certified āNational Nature ReservesĀ».
This lagoon spot of the HĆ©rault coast is a major migration point for an array of bird species, such as : the stilt, the avocet, the western marsh harrier, and the common tern, which you might just spot around our campsite
Keep your eyes peeled and take great care during your holiday ā¦
For the past 50 years, our campsite has done its utmost to preserve nature, which is why we are proud to call ourselves a 0 phyto and bird protection league refuge establishment.āØ Ā»
